About Me

Though I’m a seasoned marketing professional, I approach each project with a beginner’s mind.

I won’t bore you with my career accomplishments, but if you’re interested you can view my profile on LinkedIn, connect with me on Facebook or follow my occasional tweets on Twitter. I am mostly known for my work in nonprofit marketing, but I’m also committed to success in my roles as a husband, father, friend, mentor and community citizen.

I’ve spent quiet moments thinking about my purpose in life and have come to realize that my life mission can be summarize in three verbs:

  1. To understand the world around me.
  2. To create order from within the apparent chaos.
  3. To share unconditionally the abundance in my life.

As this blog focuses on marketing, it encompasses all three facets of my personal mission statement. First, I write as a means to gain a deeper understanding. Second, by rearranging my ideas and combining them with those of other creative minds, I’m able to discern patterns and to create a sense of purpose from within the chaos. Finally, I hope to share ideas and encouragement to enrich the lives of others, especially those who are privileged, like me, to work as marketers in the nonprofit sector.

When it’s all said and done, I’m just a simple guy trying to figure things out. James Thurber, the renowned author and cartoonist, hit the bullseye when he observed, “It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers.” If you’re like me—having more questions than answers—then pull up a chair and let’s chat. I’ll share what’s on my mind, and I’d really like to hear what’s on yours.
